About Dia

Dia Avalur is a dedicated junior at the Science & Engineering Magnet Program at Manalapan High School. With a strong passion for service and education, Dia has over 540 volunteer hours in various healthcare, community service, and educational roles, showcased by 3 Presidential Volunteer Awards. As a volunteer at CentraState Hospital and Hackensack Meridian Health, she has supported patient care, transport, and sterile processing, gaining hands-on experience in medical environments. Her commitment to healthcare is further demonstrated by her EMT certification at RWJ Barnabas Health Center, where she recently completed the NREMT and 205 hours of clinical training to develop emergency response skills. In addition, Dia actively engages in her community through roles like volunteering at temple events, organizing STEM workshops, and assisting at Red Cross disaster preparedness initiatives. Beyond academics, Dia is the founder and president of her school’s HOSA and Red Cross chapters, where she organizes events, fundraisers, and community outreach initiatives. Her leadership extends to tutoring honors Precalculus and mentoring students in STEM-related activities, making a lasting impact. With her extensive experience, leadership, and dedication to service, she strives to inspire and empower others while making a positive impact in healthcare and education.
